After “Ghosts”, I wanted to continue experimenting with the slow shutter technique and see how far I could go in creating a pictural feel to a photo, using solely my camera. Only this time, I wanted to almost confuse the viewer. Is it a painting? A photograph? I want that series to question our perception of reality. What is real? We perceive the world with light, a collection of photons interacting with each other, a world that is not solid made with moving particles of light.

I also wanted to focus on nature, and evoke painters such as Turner, Gainsborough and Monnet. The photos evoque a feeling, rather than a depiction of a scene. Abstract pictures have the capacity to transcend the known, the obvious, and go straight to the heart, like a beautiful piece of music. It’s an assembly of colours and shape, that create harmony.
